DomainGurus bandwidth is provided via multiple Tier 1 upstreams. Currently, our bandwidth blend includes Level 3, Wiltel, and Cogent. Bandwidth usage over the included amount is billed at $80 per 324GB transferred, which works out to a rate of 1 Mbps over the entire month.

For large bandwidth users, DomainGurus also offers a number of high performance bandwidth plans. Choose from metered, un-metered, and fully burstable plans to fit any budget. Please contact our sales department to discuss any of these options.

All DomainGurus servers come with real time MRTG bandwidth graphing which is available through your online account manager 24 hours a day. This feature enables you to keep a close eye on your bandwidth usage at any time throughout the day, week, month, or year.

Average Usage Billing – (Sure beats 95th%)

DomainGurus offers fair and flexible bandwidth billing!
Most datacenters and hosting providers use the dreaded “95th Percentile” billing method. DomainGurus utilizes Average Usage Billing. Throughout the month, DomainGurus takes measurements of your bandwidth usage every 5 minutes. At the end of the monthly cycle, these measurements are added together and we divide this number by the number of measurements taken. Measuring of bandwidth in this manner results in a true “average” usage reading for your bandwidth bill.

Using this method allows DomainGurus customers to take advantage of the natural peaks and valleys that occur from day to day bandwidth usage. DomainGurus’s bandwidth billing policy is designed to encourage our customer to grow their businesses and push the envelope with their hosting environments! We understand that when you succeed, we succeed! The two go hand in hand! Here is an example:


This customer has spikes of bandwidth usage on a daily basis over 2.5Mbps! This graph was pulled directly from their online account manager. To calculate their bandwidth bill, our accounting teams use the following information:

* Average In = 960.683kbps
* Average Out = 37.369kbps
* Total Usage = 998.052kbps

This is less than 1Mbps! Other providers using 95th Percentile billing would have charged this customer for 2.5Mbps! More than double – Ouch!
