I would like to link a server to the Undernet IRC Network


I have come with a more unusual request...I would like to link a server to the Undernet IRC Network. I have been there for lots of years, and I finally thought that i could make a difference in there, but I sure need help. For this job, there wouldn`t be needed a very powerful server, even the cheapest one would do the job. I had seen that your servers have one of the best DDoS protection I have ever seen, and that is why I came to you. The request of the Undernet routing committee is that a person from your firm should be admin representative on the server, so they can stay in contact with you when there are technical issues. I would be happy if we could talk over irc somewhere, just let me know and I will come meet you there.

In regards to the services installed on the server, we give you a standard setup, by this we don't mean we just give an out of a cd setup but we give you a dedicated server setup, we do this through a net install taking advantage of our own RAID servers, if you need that setup you are giving us on this email update, you have 2 different options, one of them could be you could configure everything yourself taking advantage of the root login we provide you with, or you could pay special setup which has to be reviewed by our provisioning department to determine whether is possible or not and the cost of this.

Like I explained to you, we do an extra charge for this because one or more of our provisioning representatives would have to do a custom setup which in other words means, recompiling your kernel to match your needs, configuring all services, installing services that are not on the default setup, and disabling or removing others that are on the setup, in other words we would not be able to take advantage of our regular setup method and would have to invest more time than usual.

Regularly we do not allow IRC servers to be installed at our dedicated servers, but we are willing to help you and do an exception this time, but unfortunately our NOC can not be responsible at any point for your IRC server nor, cant be contacted at any time by the routing committee, and the reason to this being is that we have other customers are kept on hold on a long queue waiting for us to respond to their call and solve their issues, and responding to third parties that are not our customer will only make our customers wait longer on queue and will make more or very unhappy.
