Cooperate to make our planet a Greener One.

DomainGurus is looking for ways to decrease our energy consumption, searching for new solutions that offer energy-efficient to help mitigate the environmental impact of our operations. As a Host service provider we are aften seeking for technological solutions that allow us to be cost- and energy-efficient.

This is why for 2009, DomainGurus is Going Green.
Because we spend 1/3 of a day working, we want to make sure that we are doing everything we can to make our world a better one. We have been up to date with many different tips and have been making many different changes in our offices. Next, are some of the concepts DomainGurus keeps in mind on our daily tasks:

As our main tools being computers and servers, one of the major changes that we have done is become energy savers by changing all of our Datacenter’s Processors to low-voltage 45 nanometer (nm) processors for servers and workstations that run at 50 watts, or just 12.5 watts per core and frequencies as high as 2.50 GigaHertz (GHz).
The Quad-Core Intel® Xeon® Processor L5400 Series takes advantage of Intel's unique 45nm manufacturing capabilities and reinvented transistor formula that combine to boost performance and reduce power consumption in data centers.
With our computers, we use smart power strips where we can plug all of the hardware and they can all be shut at once, also other tools such as scanners and printers are left unplugged until we need to use them. Another great way of saving energy is by using Plug 2 U Energy Saving Tubes.

Considering that we want to save trees, we are also doing everything online to stop wasting paper, we have come up with new projects such an Online Test, an Online Time Clock, a T3 Tracker, all to try not to use as much! Also as a new company policy, everything that is to be printed out must have a stamp corporate email with Green Remindres allowing us to think carefully before printing.

Another of many options that we consider is to buy recycled paper because the future of recycling ultimately depends on there being a market for the materials collected. Recycling is not just collecting materials and taking them to the recycling bank, it is about "closing the loop" and buying recycled too. Paper mills cannot continue to produce recycled paper if people do not buy items made from it; therefore, we encourage you to recycle.

We would like to encourage other businesses to consider doing the same, you could think of it this way, we only have one palnet to live in, and if we don't take care of it, than who will.
